List Limitations
Travel Marketing Associates is
greatly concerned about the amount of spam and "junk" email
that is populating the marketplace.
We believe in targeted direct marketing where a consumer receives
information that is tailored to their needs, and personalized
specifically for them.
The email marketplace is changing daily and especially with new
legislature coming out of Congress on spam issues. For direct
access to the latest email legislation including CAN-SPAM law

site.
TMA chooses to support the two basic principles from the Federal Trade
Commission's Telemarketing Sales Rules, enacted in 2003.
These rules will eventually become the standard for all marketing
efforts including email. They are as follows:
- You can market to a
consumer in which you have an "established business
relationship". This means the consumer must have done
business with you or contacted your agency in some way.
- You can market to a consumer
who has given the agency "express permission". This permission
can come in the form of registering for an email newsletter on your
website, or signing your guest book at a tradeshow. In some way
the consumer requested that you market to them.
TMA retains the right to refuse broadcasting services to any agency we
suspect is using an email list that does not follow the above
rules.
We know that
gathering email addresses can be challenging and want to encourage
all agencies to grow their email lists. There is unlimited
potential in your agency database and we hope to be a marketing partner
that helps you gain more clients, bookings and overall success.
